Meet Hamna, a Book Babies Mom

Updated: Sep 25, 2023

Today's blog post highlights one of our incredible Book Babies families. Hamna and her son, Mustafa, joined our Book Babies program in 2021. One of our Book Babies Literacy coaches, Vanessa, had the joy of connecting with Hamna to hear more about her experience in the Book Babies program.

Here are some of the beautiful reflections Hamna shared:

Vanessa: Tell me a little bit about your family and how you became involved with Book Babies.

Hamna: I have two sons. My first son was not in the Book Babies program, but my second son is. We were connected to the Book Babies program while I was at the hospital.

Vanessa: How has Book Babies made an impact on your family?

Hamna: Book Babies is awesome! When you become a parent, there are a lot of things that you don't know. With Book Babies, I learned more about his development. We spend time together reading and he is interested in the books and recognizing the words and pictures. I learned how important it is to start reading when children are babies because they learn faster when they get older. I wish I had known about this program with my first son.

Vanessa: What is Mustafa's favorite book?

Hamna: Oink, Oink, Moo. He loves the animals and hearing the animal sounds.
