Boston-Thurmond United and Book Harvest announced today the successful kickoff of the Boston-Thurmond Book Initiative in Winston-Salem, bringing the joy of book ownership to 125 kindergarten students across three schools this past month.

Book Harvest just announced that the bioMérieux Endowment Fund for Education has selected Book Babies Durham for a three-year philanthropic investment totaling EUR 197,953.

Book Harvest announced today a three-year grant from an anonymous donor, made in partnership with the ChildTrust Foundation, to continue its Books from Birth program at Maynard Children’s Hospital, part of the ECU Health Foundation. From 2026 through 2028, more than 12,000 North Carolina newborns are expected to leave the hospital with a Books from Birth starter home library.

Book Harvest, in partnership with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction’s (NCDPI) 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC), released the 2025 Summer Reading Engagement Report today.
