Book Harvest to Host Annual Summer Block Party

July 13 at Durham Bulls Athletic Park


What: Book Harvest’s annual Summer Block Party is a free community-wide event celebrating summer and books. The afternoon will include family activities and entertainment, highlighted by an abundance of free culturally inclusive children’s books for every child – from infants to high schoolers – to take home. The first 300 attendees will receive $5 for concessions.

 

Who: Representatives from Book Harvest; community members; The Poetry Fox; Wool E. Bull; Happy Dan the Magic Man; Morehead Planetarium & Science Center; The Bull City Woodshop; Bike Durham; over 30 other local organizations and civic entities (listed here).


When: Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM


Where: Durham Bulls Athletic Park, 409 Blackwell St, Durham, NC 27701; parking and admission are free


Why: Book Harvest believes that growing up with an abundance of books, from birth, is essential for children to flourish and to create healthy communities.
