A Decade of Heart: Celebrating Tabitha Blackwell's Impact on Book Harvest

At Book Harvest, our culture has always been built on something simple but powerful: people who show up fully, again and again, for our families and for each other. Few people embody that spirit more than Tabitha Blackwell.

After ten extraordinary years of service across multiple chapters of our history, Tabitha is wrapping up her time as our treasured Executive Director of Book Harvest Durham. It is impossible to overstate what she means to this organization, to the Durham community, and to each of us personally. 

This deep gratitude was tangible on Wednesday as we gathered as a group to celebrate her under the fitting theme of a garden party. It was a lovely moment of shared memories, well wishes, and in classic Book Harvest fashion, enthusiastic shooting stars to carry her into her next chapter. 

Thank you, Tabitha, not only for your lasting touch on Book Harvest, but for the lasting impact you have made on each of us. A common thread emerged in our reflections on Tuesday and Wednesday: Tabitha makes everyone around her a better version of themselves. For that consistent warmth, more than anything, thank you.
