2026 Summer Block Party: July 18th, 3-6pm

We’re only 23 days away from the best event of the summer: Book Harvest’s annual Summer Block Party!

This year, this beloved family event will take place at Durham Central Park from 3-6pm on July 18th, 2026. We’re thrilled to be celebrating in the center of Durham with games, activities, partners, music, food, and of course, lots and lots of free books for children and families to take home and keep forever! This event is entirely free to attend, including free parking.

But don’t listen to us… hear it from Manny and Andy!

In a recent report live from Durham Central Park, Manny and Andy highlight all the reasons to be there (including but not limited to: fairy hair, free books, music, magic shows, and the Poetry Fox). In the wise words of Andy, “This is a serious block party.”

A huge thank you to the City of Durham, EEV Education, and Gardner Media for their support of this year’s 6th annual Summer Block Party!

We’re also looking for help from our fantastic volunteers – if you’d like to join the fun, visit https://book-harvest.vomo.org/opportunity/blockparty2026 to sign up for a shift.
