Grateful to Be Recognized Among the Triangle’s Best

We have some exciting news to share: Book Harvest has been named a 2026 INDY Best Of winner and is advancing to the Best of the Best of the Triangle round!

We are incredibly grateful for this nomination and especially honored to be celebrated alongside so many nonprofits, organizations, and businesses that make the Triangle such a vibrant and connected community.

While we’re excited to see Book Harvest included in this next stage, what means the most to us is what this recognition represents: a community that believes in children, families, books, and the power of literacy.

It’s All About our Bigger Mission

At Book Harvest, our work begins with a simple belief: literacy starts at birth, in the home, powered by parents and nourished with books.

It looks like a newborn going home with their first collection of board books. It looks like a child carefully choosing a new favorite to add to their bookshelf. It looks like families reading, playing, talking, and connecting together. And it looks like books showing up in the places families already are, from hospitals and schools to community spaces and special events.

Our mission is to create a future with books for every child, support for every parent, and literacy for every community.

Being recognized by the community gives us another opportunity to shine a light on that mission and on the importance of making book ownership and joyful reading experiences possible for every child.

This Recognition Belongs to Our Community

This recognition belongs to the families who fill our spaces with curiosity and laughter. It belongs to the volunteers who give their time and energy, the community partners who help books reach more children, the educators and healthcare professionals who champion early literacy, and the donors and supporters who believe deeply in what is possible when children grow up surrounded by books.

And, of course, it belongs to our incredible Book Harvest team, whose care and commitment make this work possible every day. Our community is stronger because of the many people working every day to make it a more joyful, supportive, and connected place for everyone.

So as we celebrate this nomination, we’re celebrating the families, partners, volunteers, supporters, and young readers who make Book Harvest what it is.

To everyone who has read with us, volunteered with us, partnered with us, supported us, or simply shared our belief that every child deserves books of their own: thank you.

We’re honored to be recognized among the Triangle’s best, and even more grateful to continue building a future of book abundance together.

You can cast your vote here at vote.indyweek.com. Voting closes November 11. 2026 Best of the Best of the Triangle winners will be announced December 9 in their 'Best of the Triangle Winners' issue.
