Maggie Fox

Maggie is our Literacy Coach who works in our Book Babies program at Wake County. She will be supporting all aspects of the Book Babies program, in particular providing books and literacy-rich home visits to children and their families from birth.

Maggie has a Bachelors degree in Education, Early Childhood/English as a Second Language, and is currently pursuing an M.Ed. With a background that encompasses classroom teaching, community engagement, and program management, Maggie is committed to making a positive impact in the lives of children and families, one educational experience at a time. She is passionate about promoting family and community engagement, Trauma-informed teaching, Culturally Relevant Pedagogy, and incorporating student-centered pedagogy.

As a Literacy coach at Book Harvest, she is excited to join a community of passionate individuals committed to promoting literacy and justice for all. Her passion is creating fun and engaging reading experiences for kids, encouraging their love for books, and building meaningful relationships with families. Together she believes we all can put the “LIT” in Literacy!

Her favorite children’s book is “Dont touch My Hair” by Sharee Miller. It tells the story of a young girl who tries to escape all the curious hands that want to touch her curly hair.
