A few weeks ago, we reported that history would be made on October 27, 2016 and Book Harvest would be part of it. We are happy to report that over 2.35 million people read this year’s Read for the Record selection, The Bear Ate Your Sandwich, as part of the world’s largest shared reading experience–and 747 of those participants were involved in Book Harvest readings in Durham!

Check out the pictures below from all the locations Book Harvest representatives read including Pearsontown, Glenn, Hope Valley, Lakewood, Eastway, and C.C. Spaulding elementary schools; Westminster and POBABY Academy preschools; Liberty Street apartments; and our own board retreat! Special thanks to Durham Mayor Bill Bell for reading with students at Pearsontown Elementary School.
