Read for the Record!

Storytime at Nolia Family + Coffee with Ms. Natalie

Yesterday, we shared Thank You, Omu with 72 children and adults in Durham as part of the world’s largest shared reading experience: Jumpstart’s Read for the Record!

We started our day at Nolia Family + Coffee, a coffee shop downtown that offers storytime every Thursday at 10 a.m. (check it out!). We shared the story with children in the waiting room at Lincoln Community Health Center. Pediatricians who are part of Reach Out and Read shared the book with patients in two Duke Primary Care Clinics. And our Book Babies home visitors took the book on all their home visits.

Everyone enjoyed the beautiful story of what happens in a community when one person shares something special to her with her neighbors — and how a whole community can come together for a feast when everyone else chooses to do the same!
