Please help us welcome our new Wash & Learn Durham Storytime Leader, Niccolo Roditti!
Hi, my name is Niccolo Roditti! Just think of Piccolo and you won’t forget it. I am originally from Guayaquil, Ecuador and have lived in Rhode Island, Charlotte & Raleigh, NC and Paris, France. I love meeting new people and hearing their stories and narratives. You can find me at a concert, a thrift store or that new restaurant you’ve been wanting to try.
I graduated from North Carolina State University with a Bachelor’s in Psychology and International Studies. I am currently wrapping up my Americorps VISTA year at Families Moving Forward as their Workforce Development Associate.
As a first generation immigrant, I understand that reading is difficult and sometimes can leave you confusing. I am excited to join book harvest to support others in literacy comprehension. I currently finished a book club of Latin American female authors with my favorite book being I’m Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter by Erika Sanchez. An insightful read on a truthful experience of a Latinx teen in America.
Starting on Saturday, July 13, Niccolo will be providing storytimes and other fun literacy-rich activities for children of all ages at two Wash House Laundromats in Durham. We are particularly excited that Niccolo will be offering Spanish immersion programming on occasion, which will help both our native and non-native English speakers grow!
