New Faces on Our Intern Team!

This semester, we have the privilege of hosting two students as part of their internship and service-learning work with other organizations. Meet Sarah Neff and Alyssa Teague!

My name is Sarah, and I am so excited to be spending time at Book Harvest this year! I am a second year student at Duke Divinity School and UNC School of Social Work, and am currently interning at Oak Church in Lakewood. I grew up in Chicago and Colorado, and love to backpack and trail run in my free time. I studied Literature in college and feel very lucky to get to see so many books find new owners at Book Harvest. I hope to someday be able to integrate my love of stories and words with my social work practice. My favorite children’s book is The Velveteen Rabbit.

My name is Alyssa, and I am a senior at UNC-CH, graduating in May 2017 with a degree in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication. I am from Denver, NC, a small town near Charlotte. I enjoy crocheting or reading in my spare time, mysteries and classics being some of my favorites to read. This semester, I am enrolled in a class that is a part of UNC’s APPLES service-learning program. Through the program, our goal is to both learn and serve as a way to have hands on experience and serve our communities. Throughout the semester, I hope to use my passion for reading and volunteering paired with my readiness to learn to achieve these goals, but more importantly, to help out at Book Harvest in reaching its goals of serving our community.

If you meet Sarah or Alyssa in our office, please join us in thanking them for sharing their time with Book Harvest!
