We are so excited to announce the new resource series we’ll be sharing in May!
If you’ve been following along with us in April, you know that our in-house experts, Wilma and Amy — who are literally in their houses right now, just like the rest of us! — have been sharing their favorite online resources all month long. We’ve released a new resource recommendation for kids ages 0-5 and another for kids 5-10 each weekday morning in April, and Wilma has shared her favorites live on Facebook every Tuesday. If you missed any of those, you can find all the daily resource recommendations on our Tips from our Experts page, and you can find the live videos on our YouTube playlist.
In May, we’re adding some new in-house experts to our team: YOU!
Every Tuesday, Amy will share one of her favorite audiobooks from Audible, whose kids’ books are available for free right now. Her review will be accompanied by a review from a kid reader (or should that be a kid listener?) who has also enjoyed the audiobook. You can find each weekly review on our Tips from Our Experts page, starting next Tuesday. As always, Amy’s audiobook recommendations will be aimed at kids ages 5-10, and her kid reviewers will also be in that age group — but her first title is one that older teens and even adults will love.
Then, each Thursday, Wilma will introduce you to one of our Book Babies families via videochat, who will share their personal experience keeping their kids learning at home and share some tips for things they’re enjoying doing with their little ones. These tips will target the 0-5 age group, but many will also be activities older children will enjoy participating in, too. Some videochats will be conducted in English with Spanish subtitles, and others will be in Spanish with English subtitles. You can find the videochats and a written summary of the tip on our Tips from Our Experts page every Thursday starting next week.
Here’s where you come in: we need kid book reviewers! Do you have an elementary student who wants to listen to an audiobook and submit a review? If so, email Daniele at daniele@bookharvestnc.org so she can send your reader a book assignment and instructions for completing the review!
