We have a new team member! Now you may be thinking…”didn’t Book Harvest just hire a new person?” Yes! A few! And you can read about them here. We are growing and so excited to continue to serve Durham and beyond.
Today we are pleased to introduce you to Erin Wuebbens, our new Operations Coordinator. This position is new to Book Harvest and essential to our strategic growth. Erin is a Durham native who recently returned after a decade in Washington DC, where she served in different roles with the Folger Shakespeare Library — most recently she was the Collections Project Coordinator. She has nine years of administrative assistant and project coordinator experience, and we are so happy she brought her skills back to Durham!
Erin has a special relationship with books and is an avid reader. In preschool, she found it difficult to fall asleep during naptime so she would put her mat by the bookshelf and teach herself how to read! She will always have a soft spot for The Monster at the End of This Book by Jon Stone and illustrated by Michael Smollin because her father would read it in Grover’s voice.
Aside from reading, she enjoys baking, putting together puzzles, and hiking. When asked about joining the Book Harvest team, she said “I’m so excited to join an organization working to ensure all kids can experience the joy of reading.”
Welcome to Book Harvest, Erin!
