Book Harvest to Host 15th Annual Dream Big Book Drive & Community Celebration
Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with Free Family Fun and a Call to Give Books
What:
Book Harvest will host its 15th annual Dream Big Book Drive and Community Celebration in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, January 19, 2026. Community members are invited to donate new and gently used children’s books or simply come enjoy a free, family-friendly celebration filled with performances, hands-on activities, and a large touch-a-truck area for kids. The event will take place outdoors and under cover at Boxyard RTP.
Who:
Community members; representatives from Book Harvest; elected officials; local performers and community partners including Wool E. Bull, Paperhand Puppet Project, Poetry Fox, and more; volunteers; and families from across North Carolina.

Why:
Dream Big is an annual celebration that honors Dr. King and makes a real difference for families in our community. Donated books will be available to families in Durham and beyond through Book Harvest’s suite of programs, which provide books and literacy support to children starting at birth.
