Shane helps two football superstars select books at Books on Break.

By Shane Williams, North Carolina Central University, Class of 2018

Volunteering with Book Harvest has been such an amazing opportunity and experience. Working with kids has been something I always enjoyed doing, but being able to help them choose their books was really special for me. The excitement they had reminded me of not too long ago when I was their age reading some of the same awesome books like Magic Treehouse and A to Z Mysteries.

Reading is such a great way of learning, and the kids will always remember that Book Harvest came to their school to give them tremendous, free books. I’m just so grateful for that opportunity and can’t wait to volunteer again!
