Durham Herald-Sun: “‘Dream Big on MLK Day’ celebrates kids, literacy”

“The books just kept showing up!” 8-year-old Sammy reported gleefully. She and her friends in her Durham community had put cardboard boxes out on their porches the week before and had sent an email to their neighbors, asking them to fill the boxes with donations of new and gently used children’s books.

The boxes got filled — again, and again and again.
