Spring has sprung! If you’re in North Carolina, the pollen has definitely been our cue for the changing seasons. Plus, longer daylight and more opportunities to get outside and create new memories! If you’re a bit stumped on how to celebrate the new season with your kids, we’ve put together a fun Spring bucket list full of adventures inspired by children’s books!
Visit your city’s cherry blossoms and have a picnic, inspired by “Sakura’s Cherry Blossoms”. To find cherry blossoms in your area, simply Google “Cherry Blossoms near me.”
Go on a bike/bus/car ride and explore your community like the characters in “Last Stop on Market Street” by Matt de la Peña.
Take a trip to the garden center at your local hardware store and pick up a few flowers to take home, inspired by “Flower Garden” by Eve Bunting.
Host a Kindness Week in your home, inspired by “Kindness Week” by Tahiya Cooper.
Visit your local Mexican ice cream shop for popsicles inspired by “Paletero Man” by Lucky Diaz.
BONUS: Create a day inspired by your children’s favorite book!
If you don’t already have these books in your house, find them easily at the library! In April, we celebrate National Library Week so what better way to celebrate but by picking up these selections at your local branch! You can also keep an eye out for them during your next trip to Book Harvest.
We hope you have a wonderful time checking off items on your Spring bucket list! Remember to take photos and make memories with your loved ones. Happy Spring!
