Role at Book Harvest: Wilma develops implementation tools, meets with partners, and offers technical assistance and other program support as Book Harvest implements Books from Birth programming in new locations across the state.

Favorite Children’s Book Right Now: “We Are Water Protectors” written by Carole Lindstrom and illustrated by Michaela Goade.

Likes & Loves: Wilma enjoys getting her hands dirty in her garden and tending to her houseplants. She loves going on hikes with her family and their dog, Joy.

Where she studied: B.A. in Sociology and African-American History from Fordham University, 2015. MA from Relay Grad School of Education-New Orleans, 2018.

Experience: Wilma was a Jumpstart AmeriCorps team member and team leader all 4 years she attended Fordham. She taught Kindergarten in New Orleans for three years while pursuing her master’s degree.
