As Chief Financial Officer, Robin Smith is the primary strategist responsible for shaping and monitoring the financial health of the organization as it scales toward annual revenues of $10 million and beyond. With a career spanning over 26 years in the accounting industry, Robin brings deep expertise in nonprofit leadership, forensic accounting, and high-level financial oversight to the team. She directs the organization’s complex fiscal operations, including the management of large-scale government grants, investment portfolios, and the annual audit process, ensuring that the financial infrastructure remains robust and transparent during periods of rapid growth.

Robin earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master’s degree in Accounting with a concentration in Forensic Accounting from Southern New Hampshire University. In 2015, she founded her own accounting firm, specializing in CFO consulting, internal audit, and fraud investigation for small businesses and nonprofits. Her international experience includes leadership roles across the U.S., Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Haiti, providing her with a broad perspective on diverse operational environments.

Beyond her work in finance, Robin is a certified yoga, Pilates, and group fitness instructor, teaching around the Triangle area since 2017. She is a highly visible leader at the organization, dedicated to blending her technical expertise with and dynamic management style to support the mission and the community.
