George Hendrix

Program Coordinator
As Program Coordinator, George brings operational support to the full suite of Book Harvest’s Durham programming and provides administrative assistance for the Executive Director, Book Harvest Durham. He contributes to the evaluation and refinement of existing programs, the development and implementation of new initiatives, and the data collection and narrative building for grant writing and reporting.

George first joined Book Harvest in 2024 as an AmeriCorps Member through NC LiteracyCorps, serving with the Early Literacy Team. He was a SECU Public Fellow in 2019 and has held nonprofit sector roles in advocacy, development, and capacity building since 2020. He received a Master of Arts in Global Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Languages and Literatures from East Carolina University.

His favorite childhood book was My Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George.
