Daniela’s professional background is rooted in family advocacy and early childhood development. After earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, she began her nonprofit career as a Family Advocate for Head Start, where she supported families in navigating complex community resources. Daniela first joined the organization in 2024 as a Family Engagement Assistant through the AmeriCorps Duke LiteracyCorps program, where she demonstrated a strong commitment to the mission before transitioning into her current staff position.
Outside of her work with the organization, Daniela is the co-founder and co-leader of the Durham Kids Book Club. She is an avid hiker, a classical guitar player, and enjoys spending time with her many pets. Her favorite children’s book is Wemberly Worried by Kevin Henkes.
