Cheri Coleman

Director of Book Babies

Cheri leads all aspects of development, implementation, strategy, and research for Book Harvest’s Book Babies program, ensuring that it is implemented with fidelity in all locations across the state and beyond. Previously, Cheri served as Associate Director of Early Literacy at Book Harvest Durham where she brought enhanced processes and protocols to the work of the Book Babies team of professional Literacy Coaches, growing the scope and reach of the program.

Cheri brings a decade of experience at the Center for Child and Family Health to Book Harvest, where she was a Family Support Worker and Clinical Supervisor, working closely with families in their homes and building interdisciplinary programs to improve early childhood health and development. Her work. Previously she worked in education settings to overcome barriers to school success and on research studies focused on childhood and adolescent well-being.

Cheri received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Chicago and a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
