As Director of Procurement and Logistics, Caitlyn Smith is the strategic leader responsible for the planning, operational excellence, and financial oversight of Book Harvest’s physical infrastructure. Since joining the team in February 2019, she has developed a comprehensive vision for the organization’s supply chain and logistics network, ensuring that books are provided equitably and efficiently across North Carolina and beyond. Caitlyn directs all book acquisition and purchasing strategy, cultivating high-value, long-term relationships with publishers and distributors to maximize mission impact.

In addition to managing the flow of literacy resources, Caitlyn provides strategic oversight for facilities, vehicle fleet management, and organizational risk mitigation. She brings an intimate knowledge of Book Harvest’s mission to this role, having previously directed community engagement programs and managed book banks during the height of the pandemic. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies from UNC-Charlotte and serves on the Board of Directors at Crayons2Calculators, another organization dedicated to children's literacy.

In her free time, Caitlyn enjoys exploring local eateries, catching up with loved ones, and curling up with a good book (and her calico cat, Frankie!). Her favorite children's book is "You Matter” by Christian Robinson.
