Abby Van Vliet

School-Age Initiatives Coordinator

Abby Van Vliet serves as the School-Age Initiatives Coordinator, supporting the successful implementation of Book Harvest’s Books on Break and Books for K programs by providing excellent service to Book Harvest’s school and organizational partners in North Carolina and beyond.

A trained librarian, Abby brings a blend of experience in elementary literacy education, data management, program coordination, and administration to her role. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from George Fox University, a Master of Theological Studies from Duke Divinity School, and a Master of Library and Information Science from UNC Greensboro.

Abby lives in Durham with her husband and two cats. In her free time she enjoys long walks, hot tea, reading, and volunteering with the community at Reality Ministries. One of her favorite children’s books is The Penderwicks by Jeanne Birdsall.
