Balls & Ramps STEM Pop-Up with The Wonder Lab

Come explore force and motion as we get busy experimenting with balls and ramps! Observe how the height of a ramp affects the speed and distance the ball will roll, test out different kinds of balls made out of a variety of materials, experiment with curved pathways on ramps, and use big cardboard tubes to build your own ramp course! Ready for the next level? We will also have a list of ramp challenges (like making a ball roll uphill, knocking over blocks or cups, making a ball jump in the air, etc.) for engineers who are ready for more! The four stations would be: 1. Ramp height experiments (wood ramp stands, white PVC ramps, wood & felt balls) 2. Ramp pathways (wood boards with indented curved paths - one has more turns and therefore takes longer for balls to run through) 3. Ball experiments (variety of balls, including tennis balls, wiffle balls, rubber balls, etc. & our folding Pikler triangle/ slide to roll them down) 4. Tube ramps (large cardboard tubes, collapsible wood support, plastic balls that fit inside)
