Valerie Moreno

Senior Literacy Coach

Valerie Moreno is a dedicated advocate for early childhood literacy, bringing a unique blend of global experience and pedagogical skill to her role as a Literacy Coach for Book Babies. Her background in classroom instruction and community outreach, coupled with her fluency in multiple languages and cultures, allows her to build deep, authentic partnerships with families to create enriching home literacy environments.

Valerie is passionate about empowering caregivers and fostering a love of reading in children from birth. She brings over 11 years of experience teaching English, Spanish, and French in Puerto Rico, and has extensive experience working with youth as a student pastor. Valerie’s international perspective is further informed by her studies in Youth and Adult Correctional Intervention and Human Sciences in Montreal, Canada.

Outside of work, Valerie is a mother to a busy toddler and is a talented photographer and content creator. Her current favorite children's book is Coqui in the City by Nomar Perez.
