Earlier this week, volunteers from the Carolina Hurricanes staff and Lenovo took over PNC Arena to build 30 bookshelves for our Book Babies program. Over the span of three days and with the guidance of master builder Miguel Rubiera and two of his colleagues from Habitat for Humanity of Durham, they sanded, constructed, painted, decorated, and delivered to our office all of the gorgeous shelves you see here! They also collected 733 books! We are so grateful to be able to pass on these beautiful gifts to our families so that our Book Babies each have their own special place to build their home libraries.
